While the cover of Perfect Betrayal was deliciously abstract, the cover of Perfect Weapon, the third book in the Double Helix series, shifts into the literal (or as literal as science fiction can be.) In this novel, Danyael Sabre, the alpha empath, leads a team of genetically engineered soldiers–half animal, half human. Two questions remain:
The first: Will Danyael save or destroy Washington, D.C.?
The second: Who is the Perfect Weapon? The vicious soldiers, perfected for war, or the crippled alpha empath who leads them?
The cover Jason designed for me includes the core elements of the climatic scenes. The genetically engineering soldiers are set against a backdrop of the Capitol. Danyael, crippled and seemingly vulnerable, leads them, and it is he, not the soldiers. who is in the cross sights of the sniper’s rifle.
The cover, however, doesn’t answer the question: who’s holding the sniper rifle…? (I love the answer! Find out here…)
