My Double Helix series with its nine related books usually gets the most airtime, but I’ve written other science fiction and fantasy novels. Eternal Night started out as a science fiction but turned into a post-apocalyptic fantasy. (I’m still not entirely sure how it happened.)
The cover you see today on Eternal Night is actually its third cover. The first two covers didn’t seem to get much traction with the urban fantasy / dystopian crowd, and I’m hopeful that this one will do better.
The person on the cover is Ashra, the icrathari queen. She and her vampire army rule over an 18th century domed city trapped in eternal night. Of course, nothing is quite what it seems, and when you reach the end of this book, you won’t see vampires the same way ever again. Eternal Night won the Royal Palm Literary Award for best fantasy, and I invite you to check it out.
